I wish that this.....

whole not updating my blog thing was some sort of passive agressive issue, but sadly, I'm just a lazy bitch. More importantly, I've so very much to tell all of you about. For starters, isn't little Natalie just the cutest thing. I'm so very proud of you Special K and I love you very much.

As for the pirate ship, well, where to begin? My friend in the picture received a Jolly Roger flag from his lovely wife last winter as a gift. In the spring, we tore down his flag pole as it was dangerous and falling down, but his wife was sad that he now didn't have anything to fly his flag from. I told him that I would build him a pirate ship to properly display his flag from and things naturally progressed from there. It seems to be a failing of mine that I can't build small, nor apparently without using a lot of black paint. This ship measures over 20 feet from stem to bow to stern and over 18 feet from the base to the tip of the flag pole. The cannons look like they're firing due to the orange flashing Halloween lights I installed and the ship looks amazing at night. My friend said that every boy under 13 came back at least a couple of times on Halloween to check it out and tell how cool it was, so it's probably a good thing he's not a pedophile. I've currently undertaken the task of helping him build a wood shop in his basement and have been having a blast with that.

For Halloween, we didn't really do anything, but the 4th the Physics department had a big party and so the ship was dissassembled and transported to the venue and set up near the pond, and at night it looked like it was floating, pretty cool with the moon and everything. I went as a Republican Congressman, going so far as to shave off my five year old goatee, and my lovely wife went as my page. We had a good time, but the party shut itself down really early. (I'll see if I can find some pictures to post.)

I took the last weekend off from work and did some hunting but didn't shoot anything. I also found some time to clean out my shop and to bring some order to my basement. I also just relaxed and took some time for myself, which was nice.

As far as my fitness goals and job aspirations, well...... mabe that's really why I haven't written in awhile. I wasn't ready physically to test for the position that I desired, which led me into a hellacious funk where I pretty much hated the whole world and most importantly, me. I've really got to find something to motivate me and make me stick to my quest for personal betterment because I've been pretty terrible about it on my own. You'd think that improving my lot in life, both physically and financially would be enough motivation on it's own, but apparently that's not good enough for me. Any advice that you, my wonderful friends could throw my way would be appreciated and I hope that you all got out to vote and that everything is well in your worlds.

I agree w/ Sy. Also, good thing you finally posted, I was ready to get on you on MLF's blog! Anyway, good to see the pic of Natalie made it onto the page! Although, I am suprised it came before discussion of the pirate ship! How about avoiding more pain/surgeries for motivation on the getting fit situation?! Just a thought! Also, I voted for the first time ever (and I picked them all right!). See you soon, can't wait for Xmas!

Love you,
Katie

Ugh...is there any way to keep this crap out of the comments?
